Since the launch of Attica Online on March 2nd, 2001, we've
received a lot of comments from around the country, as well as locally.
This page is devoted to those comments. Thanks so much for your feedback, and
enjoy the ever changing world, that is....

"I
am strongly requesting that you remove the negative postings about my husband
that have been recently mentioned on AOL. I think you have allowed the AOL forum
to drag us through the mud enough in the past. I, myself being a teacher, can't
believe the Attica school system is that unprofessional to employ you knowing
that you own a website that allows others to bash school employees. Don't get me
wrong, I feel the AOL website does a wonderful job of promoting AHS activities,
but the forum should not be part of it. You know, you have used the forum on
Indy Star before to support your actions. Have you checked it out lately? They
have even done away with their high school forum. I'm sure that's probably due
to the liability position it put them in. The Forum is nothing but a national
enquirer for our community. I would find it hard to believe that any other
community has a forum like yours that allows the people who live and work there
to be displayed in a negative manner. I have privately expressed my displeasure
in the forum to school board members in the past, but I'm planning on publicly
expressing my displeasure in you being an AHS employee at the next school board
meeting."

I
read your web page almost every day. I appreciated the pics of the flood. I
lived along the Wabash, on old River Road , east of Riverside, during my teen
years. The old river could play havoc on crops, but I had so much enjoyed the
fishing & trapping. Thanks much

I
am a 63 graduate of Attica High School. I just found out about your web site,
and I think it is a wonderful thing. I live in Louisville, Kentucky now
but
I still have family there. I get to Attica maybe once a month but this web site
gives me more insight of what is going on in town. I visit the site every day.
I watched the championship basketball game on TV, and screamed and
hollered right along with the other fans. I was wonderful, thank you very much
for putting OUR Town on the web. The ones who have moved away may enjoy all the
happenings going on there. Keep up the good work.

I
just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate having atticaonline. For those
of us who have moved away it is great to have this connection to keep updated on
the community. Attica is never far away from my heart even though I have lived
in Ohio for 30 years. I want to let you and especially Andy Smart know how much
the Wall of Fame has special meaning to us. Yesterday was the first time I had
gone into the Wall of Fame button and I was amazed to see my Dad's name come up
on the top of the screen, especially since he was standing at my shoulder,
watching it come up too! My Dad, Thorild 'Swede' Johnson, was pretty surprised
to see his picture on the screen. As we looked at the Wall, he had some story to
tell about just about everyone pictured since he has lived in Attica most of his
87 years. It was a wonderful moment. Thanks.
Dave's write-up on the 'heart' of the Attica basketball team must have been right
on. I'm sure it had a lot to do with Attica coming back to win the STATE
CHAMPIONSHIP!!! We were so excited with you and for those of you who live there.
What a moment for the town. I wish you much success with your online endeavor.
I'm sure as news spreads of this website, you will have many appreciative
viewers from the ranks of us away from the homeland.

Saw you listed me in your hi school page Thanks. I wanted to show that there
were some before 1940 still around. I read the obit page, always hate to see
some one I knew, but nice to know. I got a bang out of the Miami Beach
article, I was there a couple of times as a small boy. Frank Sheets who was
part owner, was my janitor when I was principal at Logan grade school in 1940

Greetings from the deep south. I just recently discovered your site through
Larry Killian, class of 1961. Have enjoyed reading & looking at some of the past
history. The pic of the old Hall school was good. The school sat just north of
my father's farm on the old river road. I have some pics of the old Logan school
with the class of 1941. I was principal at the time. I was disappointed in the
Alumni page that you had nothing below 1940. I was in the class of 1935 & can
still read e-mail. Would like much if any would write to me. Hoping this gets
through I know e-mail is funny sometime.

I
enjoyed seeing the pictures of houses i knew. I was disappointed not to see the
house i lived in which i thought was on the National registry (402 E Washington
street). I loved seeing the basketball and other sports listed. Does Attica High
school have a website of its own? Where is the link? I wish more classmates had
registered with email addresses. I did get in contact with some I hadn't heard
from in 22 years. That was delightful.
I look forward to seeing you all develop that site. It's a
great start for a sweet little town.
Thanks,

David,
My wife and I enjoy the Attica Online site very much. We both worked at Attica
High School from 1976-1985 (I believe you were in one or more of my classes). I
especially enjoyed your reporting on Attica's ISTEP scores. Keep up the good
work!

Thought you might want to know that in "Other
School news" on the home page you have Kim Sowers listed as principal. She might
be happy to know that she has achieved such a position, she lives in Veedersburg
and is married to Dan Sowers. I found it quite humorous though.

Nice
spread on the AES Christmas Program! I’m glad somebody published pictures for
the world to see, and for the students to claim bragging rights. Y’all run a
good website— and a great service to the community.
Keep
up the good work!

Troy,
I
really appreciate you and the other guys keeping me in touch with the news and
events around Attica. I left Attica after I graduated (when you and your AOL
partners were little kids) in 1974. Although my parents still reside there, I
only get back up two or three times a year. However, I check AOL at least twice
a week to see what's going on. The sports reporting is especially interesting as
I can keep up on the children of some of my classmates. The forum is interesting
to say the least. Seems like the same people (or their offspring) are still the
outspoken ones in town. My career has taken me from Indiana, Arkansas, and now
to Tennessee, and it is good to know I can always keep in touch with the old
hometown through AOL. Thanks Troy, and pass on my appreciation to your AOL
partners.

Hi
Dave!!!
I
had an Idea. How about putting on a "AtticaOnline Trading Post"? You could use a
clone of your "Community Events" and set it so the ads run for a week then are
automatically deleted. Well you get the idea. Might bring in some folks to the
site and give us a place to list things for sale or trade locally.
Well..........What do you think?????? Later,

Sir:
I am
a 1943 grad of AHS, and while there , played football, basketball, and ran
track. I have in my possession in my scrap book portions of three basketball
goal nets. Having now reached the age of full maturity, I no longer have much
use for them. I know that when AHS had the fire of several years ago, some of
their sports memorabilia was lost. If what I have would be of any use to the
school, I would be happy to donate it to them. One piece was from the Wabash
Valley Prelims played at Attica in 1942; a second piece from the Sectional
Finals in 1942, and the third from the Wabash Valley Prelims in 1943. My name is
Joe Burkhardt. I was the QB for Attica's very first 6 man football team in 1941,
and also for 1942, and played the night that my very best friend, Lewis Bruce
was fatally injured. I could not find any e-mail address directly to the school
itself so will ask you to forward this on the the proper authorities. Thank you
very much.
Still a Red Rambler at heart,
Joe Burkhardt

Hey
David,
Talked to my mom in Attica today and she mentioned a World Premiere motion
picture opening at the Devon Theater coming up. She saw the article in the
Indianapolis Star. Today's online issue does not mention
it.
Could you find out and fill me in? Thanks. Enjoy your site and listened to the
BB championship game!!

Dave,
Enjoy very much the radio station, also recently found this site and agree "How
Sweet It Is" for Attica to have won a State Championship. You young fellows and
girls really are helping to put Attica on the map.

I
just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful article you wrote at 3:30 this
morning. By the time I got to the bottom I was crying all over again. Obviously
emotions are still running on high, however I hope it effects everyone who reads
that way. Thanks Again!!!
