May activities at the library:

 

Debbie Held, the Attica Elementary School’s Art teacher, has watercolor paintings and colored pencil sketches on display at the library for the month of May.

 

Thursday, May 1:  The Writer’s Group meets at 1:30 PM at the library.

Tuesday, May 6:  The Friends of the Library will meet at 7 PM for their monthly meeting.  The public is welcome to attend.

Wednesday, May 7:   Story Hour today will feature the book “Are You My Mother” by P.D. Eastman.  We welcome all children from newborn to preschool and homeschoolers.

Tuesday, May 13:  The library’s Board of Trustees meet at 7:30 PM.  The public is welcome to attend.

Wednesday, May 14:  Story Hour today will feature the book “The Teeny Tiny Woman” by Jane O’Connor.  We welcome all children from newborn to preschool and homeschoolers.

Thursday, May 15:  We invite you to attend Chris Woodworths' book signing from 5-7 PM. Come in to get your early copy of her new chapter book for children ages 10-14, “Double Click For Trouble”. The book published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, will not be officially released until May 27.

Wednesday, May 21:  “Mommy and Me” lap sit art classes from 11:15-11:45.  Please sign up in advance at the front desk.  The class is for 3-5 year olds and is free.  We will have a play day for everyone not participating in the art class.

Tuesday May 27 and Wednesday May 28:  Summer Reading starts!  Children of all ages (newborn -18yrs) are welcome to sign up starting Tuesday, May 27th.  Come and “Catch the Reading Bug” on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, May 27th thru July 30th from 11AM to 12 Noon.  We will have a story related to our theme, make a craft, and have a snack.  Everyone who participates in the program will receive a free paperback book and a “goodie” bag to keep.
