APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
Mr. Askren made a motion to approve the minutes of May 14th, seconded by Mr. Summers.
DEPARTMENT HEADS
Mr. Jean reported that the city pool was now open and operating proficiently. Mr. Snoeberger announced that he would be presenting the Clerk’s office with a list of pool fence violators. The initial contact will be a letter requesting compliance before a citation is issued. Mr. O’Farrell reported that the work on the garage doors has started.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Mr. Eric Smith with Hannum, Wagle & Cline engineering presented a compliance update
for the City of
- Full Treatment for all flows up to the 1-year, 1-hour storm
(Approximately 1.2 inches in one hour)
- Primary treatment for all flows up to the 10-year, 1-hour storm
(Approximately 2.1 inches in one hour)
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Swift inquired with the Chief of Police to see if he felt it would be necessary for the City of Attica to pass a more restrictive ordinance on fireworks after a the new state statue went into effect. Mr. Snoeberger felt at this time it would not be necessary. Mr. Swift announced that the trees downtown were going to have to be removed due to the sidewalk destruction. He also mentioned that a budget line item would be added in the 2008 budget for future trees and periodic replacement. Mr. O’Connor presented the annual compliance with Statement of Benefits from C&D Technologies regarding an ongoing abatement that began in 1999. After careful review by the council, Mr. Summer made a motion to approve and Mr. Craft seconded, all ayes.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Mr. Swift announced that there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new park bridge on 6/27/07 at 5:30pm. He also reported that there would be a group brought in to analyze and quote the cost associated with fixing the grave markers that have either fallen down or they are leaning. Mr. Summers requested a history lesson on an ordinance to ban specific dog breeds. Mr. O’Connor stated that the council had decided not to pursue such a restrictive path ten years ago and adopted the current dangerous animal ordinance.

There being no further business to come before the council, Mrs. Maus made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Craft, all ayes.
