APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
Mrs. Maus made a motion to approve the minutes of April 9th, seconded by Mr. Askren.
CITIZEN PETITIONS
The public hearing was opened for a petition filed by Scott
Gregory regarding closure of a street.
There was discussion regarding the location and the hearing was
closed. Mr. Summers made a motion to
read ordinance #1 in full and a second time by title only. Mr. Craft seconded the motion, all ayes. Mr. O’Connor read the ordinance in full and
by title only the second time. Mr.
Askren made a motion to suspend the rules for the third time and Mr. Grant
seconded, all ayes. Mr. O’Connor read
the ordinance for the third time. Mr.
Summers made a motion to adopt ordinance #1 and Mr. Askren seconded. There was a role call taken with 5 – 0 in

Mr. Swift reported for Mr. Jean on the blacktopping, announcing that it was complete for this year other than spot fixes. He also announced that the pool was being readied for the 2007 season. Mr. Snoeberger presented the statistics on Ordinance Violations. There have been 80 written with 56 of them being dismissed due to compliance with our ordinance. Eighteen have paid their fines. Overall he is receiving positve feedback regarding the tickets from the citizens who are concerned about the cities appearance. He also reported the placement of the speed detection sign (on loan from the county) and that he is researching for grant monies available to purchase a speed sign for the city.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Swift announced that councilman Summers would be on the
Finance, Planning and Zoning standing committees and that Mr. Grant will be the
designated chairman of the finance committee.
Ms. Negele presented the rainy day distribution from 2006 budget. Mr. O’Connor presented the resolution #2 for
rainy day distribution. Mr. Summers made
a motion to read resolution#2 and Mrs. Maus seconded, all ayes. Mr. Summers made a motion to adopt resolution
#2 and Mr. Craft seconded, all ayes. Mr.
Swift reported that the first new bridge in ravine park is complete and would
like to thank the Rotary Club, Park Board, and the City of
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Mr. Swift announced that the Historic Landmarks of Fountain
County received a grant of $2,500 for a study regarding the use of the Attica
Armory. He would also like to thank all
of the volunteers who helped with the gardening at
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the council, Mr. Askren made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mrs. Maus, all ayes.
