COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

CITY OF ATTICA

February 14, 2005

 

The Common Council for the City of Attica met on the 14th day of February at the hour of 7:00 p.m. at city hall.  Those present: Mr. Larry Grant, Mrs. Valarie Maus, Mr. Bill Craft,  Mr. Harold Burris, Mr. Larry Askren, Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Tom O’Connor and Ms. Sharon Negele. 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

Mrs. Maus made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 10th meeting, seconded by Mr. Burris.

 

DEPARTMENT HEADS

Mr. Snoeberger reported having computer issues regarding outdated hardware/software and would be further investigating the cost of replacement.  In addition, a letter will be sent to the Spangler property on North Perry to invoke action on cleanup within 30 days.  A new police car has been ordered and April or May delivery is expected.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Grant made a motion to read resolution #1 for the 1st time to transfer monies to the Rainy Day Fund.  Mr. Craft seconded the motion, all ayes.  Mr. Grant made a motion to adopt resolution #1 and Mr. Burris seconded the motion, all ayes.  Mr. Grant made a motion to accept the renewal of the dental policy with Guardian, Mr. Craft seconded, all ayes.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS

Mr. Craft reported that the cell tower construction should start within 3 weeks and service will be available by April.  Mr. Swift announced that a Lions Club Building Rental Agreement is in the process of being developed.  Mr. O’Conner stated that the agreement would be available within the week.  There was discussion on the proof of insurance requirement and Ms. Negele reported that it was a requirement made by the city’s insurance carrier.  Mr. Swift offered congratulations to the girl’s basketball team on winning the sectional and good luck in regional.

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to come before the council, Mr. Craft made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Askren, all ayes.
