BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY
July 6, 2004
The Board of Works and Safety met on the 6th day of July at City hall at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Mrs. Kay Gustus, Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Duane Roderick, Mr. Tom O’Connor, and Ms. Sharon Negele.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular session held on June 15th, 2004 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mrs. Gustus.
CITIZENS PETITIONS
No citizen petitions.
DEPARTMENT HEADS
Mr. Jean suggested that we change our utility read dates to begin on the 15th day of the month consistently. All of the board agreed with the change. Ms. Jordan has arranged for two hearings to occur on properties neglected and is sending out a notice specifically for the burnt trailer in Lambert Court. She has placed placards on the late Lonnie Smith property and will continue to move to the next phase. In addition, the Napa building owners have been sent notice and will continue to move to the next phase.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Terry Cox pool has been drained and prepared with mosquito propellant.
CLAIMS
Claims in the amount of 214,794.48 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were presented to the board. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Roderick.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
No miscellaneous business.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to be brought before the board, Mrs. Gustus made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Roderick seconded the motion.
