BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY
July 20, 2004
The Board of Works and Safety met on the 20th day of July at City hall at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Mrs. Kay Gustus, Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Tom O’Connor, and Ms. Sharon Negele.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular session held on July 6th, 2004 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mrs. Gustus, seconded by Mr. Swift.
CITIZENS PETITIONS
Mr. Hershberger notified the City of Attica that he has filed a petition of bankruptcy. The City will notify the lending institution of the pending dilapidated building issue. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to table this matter and Mr. Swift seconded. In addition, the Cross and Nunn properties have addressed the dilapidated building issues. Jimmy Taylor has been contacted to demolish the old Napa building.
DEPARTMENT HEADS
Department heads had nothing to report at this time.
CLAIMS
Claims in the amount of 130,378.50 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were presented to the board. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Mr. Eric Smith, representing Hannum, Wagle and Cline presented the LTCP and cost estimates to meet IDEM requirements for our Combined Sewer Overflow. The next meeting to be held to discuss final submission will be July 27, 2004 at 5:30PM.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to be brought before the board, Mrs. Gustus made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Swift seconded the motion.
