OF WORKS & SAFETY
May
4, 2010
The
Board of Works and Safety met on the 4th day in May at City Hall at 4:30
p.m. Members present: Mr. Shepherd, Mr. Huckleberry, Mr. O’Connor
and Ms. Negele.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
Minutes
of the regular session held on April 20, 2010 was approved as prepared on a
motion by Mr. Huckleberry, seconded by Mr. Shepherd.
DEPARTMENT
HEADS
Mr. Jean reported that he was
busy with the sewage plant correcting the primary tanks and there is an issue
with the controls on the air stripper that they are trying to resolve which
forced them to place it in bypass mode.
Additionally US41 had to be dug up to correct a water leak.
Mr. O’Farrell reported that
they were waiting on two more pieces of equipment to make the new engine
complete but all training was complete.
Also the concrete work needed on the entrance of the station will occur
in the next three weeks.
Mr. Snoeberger stated that he
had 21 properties with high grass and weeds and of those 9 were confirmed vacant
with 2 being owned by John Hoffa and the remaining were under local
control. He stated that letters would be
going out soon . He also mentioned that
he would arrange for a parking area for the Police Merit Board members due to
the expected high volume of attendees.
NEW
BUSINESS
Mr.
Robert Shepherd reported that Mr. Dismore and Mr. O’Connor were going to begin
the condemnation/demolition proceedings on the property at
CLAIMS
Claims
dated on May 4th 2010 for $122,807.13 as shown by the Claims and Allowance
docket, was presented to the board. Mr. Huckleberry
made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Shepherd.
MISCELLANEOUS
BUSINESS
Ms.
Negele just wanted to remind everyone that curbside Spring Cleanup is scheduled
for May 15th.
ADJOURNMENT
There
being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Huckleberry
made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Shepherd seconded the motion.
