BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY

April 18, 2006

The Board of Works and Safety met on the 18th day of April at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Duane Roderick, Mr. O’Connor and Ms. Sharon Negele.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on April 4th, 2006 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mr. Swift.

DEPARTMENT HEADS

Mr. Jean reported the loss of the generator that covers the City Building. He is waiting on a firm quote but estimates same type of equipment replacement would be close to $12,000. If we upgraded the equipment it would be close to $14,000 and if we wanted a generator to cover the entire building it would cost $25,000.

CLAIMS

Claims in the amount of $77,430.44 as shown by the Claims and Allowance docket, were presented to the board. Mr. Roderick made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS

Mr. Swift raised the issue from concerned citizens regarding pool drainage into their yard. Mr. O’Connor advised him that the action is not violating any city ordinance and therefore becomes a civil matter.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Roderick made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Swift seconded the

Motion.
