BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY

March 7, 2006

 

The Board of Works and Safety met on the 7th day of March at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.  Members present: Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Duane Roderick, Mr. David Huckleberry, Ms. Sharon Negele, and Mr. Tom O’Connor.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on February 21, 2006 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mr. Huckleberry.

 

CITIZENS PETITIONS

Mr. Joe Gress introduced himself as a potential buyer of the property at 1104 N. Perry.  The property has been put up for tax sale with no one placing a bid.  Mr. O’Connor will contact the auditor for further instruction on possible courses of action.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Ms. Jordan announced that she did not receive a signed proposal from Mr. Pattengale.  A notice to bidders will be published.

Mr. O’Connor will present Omni City (Wireless Broadband provider) with a proposal on a rental fee for space on our communication tower at $100 per month plus 2 service connections.  This contract will have a 3- year renewal clause and an early cancellation option in the event there are conflicts with existing wireless service in the area. 

 

CLAIMS

Claims in the amount of $157,578.37 as shown by the Claims and Allowance docket, were presented to the board.  Mr. Huckleberry made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Roderick.

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Roderick made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Huckleberry seconded the

motion.
