OF WORKS & SAFETY
February
21, 2006
The
Board of Works and Safety met on the 21st day of February at City
Hall at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Mr.
Deon Swift, Mr. Duane Roderick, Mr. David Huckleberry, Mrs. Pam Sichts, and Mr. Tom O’Connor.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
Minutes
of the regular session held on February 7, 2006 were approved as prepared on a
motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mr. Swift.
DEPARTMENT
HEADS
Mr.
Dwayne Pattengale appeared before the board for a
hearing on his dilapidated building in response to a notice sent by the city’s
building commissioner, Ms. Jordan.
After much discussion, Mr. Huckleberry made a
motion that Mr. Pattengale must have a signed proposal from a contractor by the
next Board of Works meeting on March 7th. The proposal must include
all the work (except for fire escape stairs) to be completed as stipulated by
the Building Commissioner. The doors on the building should also be repaired by
March 7th. The completion
date for all other repairs should not exceed the date of April 1. Mr. Roderick seconded the motion.
NEW
BUSINESS
The
city received a check for $1 from Home City Ice for the leasing of real estate
north or their building and south of the old City Garage.
The
board signed a contract with Johnson Sewer Service for the dumping of outside
waste at the city’s facility.
Mayor
Swift signed a 2-year Engineering Retainer Agreement between Hannum, Wagle and Cline and the city.
CLAIMS
Claims
in the amount of $104,640.20 as shown by the Claims and Allowance docket, were
presented to the board. Mr. Huckleberry
made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Roderick.
ADJOURNMENT
There
being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Roderick made a
motion to adjourn and Mr. Huckleberry seconded the
motion.
