BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY

December 6, 2005

 

 

The Board of Works and Safety met on the 6th day of December at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.  Members present: Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Dave Huckleberry and Ms. Sharon Negele.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on November 15, 2005 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

DEPARTMENT HEADS

Mr. Jean reported that leaf pickup is close to completion.  Mr. Swift reported that Mr. Jimmy Taylor was hired by Leon Rushin to tear down the dilapidated building on his property.  The city is also pursuing the demolition of the property owned by John Hoffa otherwise known as the fire damaged Butler property.  Mr. Jimmy Taylor has expressed interest in the demolition and the information was forwarded to Mr. Hoffa.

 

CLAIMS

Claims in the amount of $175,580.41 as shown by the Claims and Allowance docket, were presented to the board.  Mr. Huckleberry made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Huckleberry made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Swift seconded the motion, all ayes.
