OF WORKS & SAFETY
October
4, 2005
The
Board of Works and Safety met on the 4th day of October at City Hall at 5:30
p.m. Members present: Mr. Deon Swift,
Mr. Duane Roderick, Mr. O’Connor and Ms. Sharon Negele.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
Minutes
of the regular session held on September 20, 2005 were approved as prepared on
a motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.
DEPARTMENT
HEADS
Ms.
Jordan informed the owner of 504 Union that they would have through the weekend
to cleanup the property or it will be condemned. There is a mobile home in the trailer park
that will require tear down and Tom O’Connor is working on the notice. Ms. Jordan also mentioned that 200 E.
Columbia and 503 N 6th St would be receiving ordinance violations
for debris on the properties. The owner
of the burnt property on Market St. will receive notice for required
demolition. Mr. Swift reported that the
Bell property will be purchased shortly and the new owner will arrange tear
down.
NEW
BUSINESS
Mr.
Swift announced that the courtroom furnace and A/C has to be replaced. Mr.
Roderick made a motion to accept the proposal from Johnson Heating & Air
Conditioning. Mr. Swift seconded the
motion, all ayes.
CLAIMS
Claims
in the amount of 147,235.30 as shown by the Claims and Allowance docket, were
presented to the board. Mr. Roderick
made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.
ADJOURNMENT
There
being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Roderick made a
motion to adjourn and Mr. Swift seconded the motion, all ayes.
