BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY

May 3, 2005

 

 

The Board of Works and Safety met on the 3rd day of May at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.  Members present: Mr. Deon Swift, Mrs. Gustus, Mr. O’Connor and Ms. Sharon Negele.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on April 19, 2005 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mrs. Gustus, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

 

DEPARTMENT HEADS

Mr. Jean reported that several streets have been blacktopped.

Mr. Snoeberger announced that a decision on new Incident reporting software and computer hardware has been made. Implementation will occur within the next few weeks. An advertisement will be placed in the papers for the budgeted part time Records Clerk.  Several properties have been given ordinance violations. One received a continuance until the next court date and at that time will be re-checked for compliance. 

According to Ms. Jordan, a notice of condemnation has been placed on the Butler property and a notice has been sent to the Greer property regarding the condition of the garage and trash.  Mr. O’Connor will prepare a letter regarding the completion of the demolition of the old Napa building.  

 

 CLAIMS

Claims in the amount of $157,379.19 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were presented to the board.  Mrs. Gustus made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

There being no further business to be brought before the board; Mrs. Gustus made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Swift seconded the motion, all ayes.
