OF MINUTES

of the regular session held on March 15, 2005 were approved as prepared on a
motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mrs. Gustus, all ayes.
DEPARTMENT
HEADS
Mr.
Jean stated that the leak on well#2 appears to be a minimal issue. He will be contacting a vendor for repair
items.
Mr.
Snoeberger has previewed some software and will
continue comparing costs. The department
has tagged between 20-25 cars and is working on ordinance violations.
Mr.
O’Conner reported that a suit against the Spangler property has been
filed.
According
to Mr. O’Farrell the DNR inspected the park to determine if a controlled burn
to remove the underbrush could occur.
Due to the condition of the woods a controlled burn may not produce the
desired results. It was recommended that the city consult with a forester to
see what action needs to be taken.
Because of repeated break-ins, Mr. O’Farrell is investigating the
condition of the buildings owned by Joe Riley on the North side of Summit. Mr. Riley will be providing blueprints and a
list of chemicals stored. In addition,
the fire department will be designating areas of entry on each building.
Ms.
Jordan reported that a vacant property on 701 E. Jackson is in bad
condition. She is in the process of
locating the owner, Mr. Greer. Complaints concerning the property at 501 N.
Fifth Street are also being investigated.
CLAIMS
Claims
in the amount of $195,035.15 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were
presented to the board. Mrs. Gustus made
a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Roderick, all ayes.
MISCELLANEOUS
BUSINESS
Mr.
Swift announced the $250 reward for any information leading to the arrest of
the vandalism that occurred at Ravine Park. He also announced the sale of Booth
trailer park from Gardner Rentals to Dunham Properties. Mr. O’Conner confirmed that the violations
issued by the State Board of Health would apply to the new owner because it
transfers with the trailer park license.
