OF WORKS & SAFETY
March
15, 2005
The
Board of Works and Safety met on the 15th day of March at City hall
at 5:30 p.m. Members present: Mr. Deon
Swift, Mr. Roderick, Mrs. Gustus, Mr. O’Conner and Ms. Sharon Negele.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
Minutes
of the regular session held on March 1, 2005 were approved as prepared on a
motion by Mrs. Gustus, seconded by Mr. Roderick, all ayes.
DEPARTMENT
HEADS
Mr.
O’Farrell announced that Squad 17 was out of service for less than 24
hours. The squad required installation
of additional springs protecting the base.
Mr. O’Conner informed the board that the
Indiana State Health Department was alerted as to the conditions of the portion
of the Booth trailer park owned by Gardiner Rentals. An inspection occurred on
March 9th and Gardiner Rentals was cited for 10 violations. Gardiner has until April 9th to
correct the problems.
CLAIMS
Claims
in the amount of $90,384.85 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were
presented to the board. Mr. Roderick
made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mrs. Gustus, all ayes.
MISCELLANEOUS
BUSINESS
Mr.
Swift asked Mr. Jean to repaint the customer parking sign at the Clerk’s
Office. In addition, Mr. Swift advised
the board of the vandalism at
ADJOURNMENT
There
being no further business to be brought before the board; Mrs. Gustus made a
motion to adjourn and Mr. Roderick seconded the motion, all ayes.
