DEPARTMENT HEADS

Mr. O’Conner submitted a notice to bidders to be published for the demolition of the building at 205 N. Perry St.  Mr. Jean reported the receipt of information from Huston Electric regarding a potential service contract for our generators.  We have three generators and each service contract would cost $240 per year. Mr. Swift advised Mr. Jean to arrange for the receipt of actual contracts.  Ms. Jordan reported on the 2004 Building Improvements.  There was $586,120 total construction.  Total permit dollars was $2,088. Total number of permits submitted was 50.  Ms. Jordan reported that the Hoffa property on 804 E. Main St at this time has no structural issues and that all problems are interior.  The owner of 503 N 6th will be sent a legal notice regarding a deteriorating porch causing a building code violation.  In addition, the property will receive an ordinance violation for rubbish.  Ms. Jordan made note of the building between Roemers and Trash to Treasure, which has structural issues.  She will begin the process of condemning the property and contacting the owner.  Additionally there are a couple of rental properties that will require extensive structural work this spring to avoid condemnation.
