BOARD OF WORKS & SAFETY

January 4, 2005

 

 

The Board of Works and Safety met on the 4th day of January at City hall at 5:30 p.m.  Members present: Mr. Deon Swift, Mr. Roderick, and Ms. Sharon Negele.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the regular session held on December 21st, 2004 were approved as prepared on a motion by Mrs. Gustus, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

 

DEPARTMENT HEADS

Ms. Jordan announced that Mr. O’Conner would be sending a letter to the owner of the old Napa building regarding the time schedule on demolition.  In addition, the Bell property on Washington that has severe fire damage is still not resolved but communication has begun with the attorney associated with the property.

 

CLAIMS

Claims in the amount of $244,592.65 as shown by the claims and allowance docket, were presented to the board.  Mr. Roderick made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr. Swift, all ayes.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS

Mr. Swift mentioned that the City Building has no smoke detectors and would like a study on the feasibility of a detection system.

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to be brought before the board; Mr. Roderick made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Swift seconded the motion, all ayes.
