CITY OF ATTICA
BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY
DECEMBER 3, 2002
The Board of Works and Safety met on the 3rd day
of December 2002 at city hall at 5:30 p.m.
Members present: Mr. Duane Roderick,
Mrs. Kay Gustus, Mr. Tom O’Connor, Mr. Deon Swift and Mrs. Nancy Mitchell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular session held on November 19, 2002
were approved as prepared on a motion by Mr. Roderick, seconded by Mrs.
Gustus. All ayes.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
City Attorney Tom O’Connor reported he is still working with
the insurance company regarding the Dicken’s property on Third Street. The insurance company has referred Mr.
O’Connor to their attorney.
CLAIMS
Claims, in the amount of $81,803.49 as shown by the claims
and allowance docket, were presented to the board. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr.
Roderick. All ayes.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mayor Swift reported to the board that Mrs. Joe Riley, Sr.
has donated Riley ball diamond, in the memory of her husband, to the city on
the condition it remain a park for the youth in the future. The mayor wished to publicly thank Mrs.
Riley on behalf of the city.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to be brought before the
board, Mrs. Gustus made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Roderick. All ayes.
