CITY OF ATTICA
BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY
NOVEMBER 19, 2002
The Board of Works and Safety met on the 19th day
of November 2002 at city hall at 5:30 p.m.
Members present: Mr. Duane
Roderick, Mrs. Kay Gustus, Mr. Tom O’Connor, Mr. Deon Swift, and Mrs. Nancy
Mitchell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular session held on November 5, 2002 were
approved as prepared on a motion by Mrs. Gustus, seconded by Mr. Roderick. All ayes.
CITIZENS PETITIONS
Mayor Swift presented to the board a request from Mrs. Alice
Rollins to close McDonald Alley between Main and Jackson Streets on November 24
from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There will
be Christmas tree lighting and wagon rides at that time. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to approve the
request, seconded by Mr. Roderick. All
ayes.
DEPARTMENT HEADS
Mr. Ron Jean, Director of Public Works, reported that
Brackney moved items in today to begin work on the North End Project. They will break ground and begin December 1.
Mr. Gene Snoeberger, Chief of Police, reported the fence has
been taken down on the Dicken’s property.
After discussion of the property with Building Commissioner Bunny
Jordan, Mrs. Gustus made a motion to request bids to have it demolished,
seconded by Mr. Roderick. All ayes.
Chief Snoeberger requested approval from the board to paint
parking spaces for the police cars in the parking lot, which was given.
CLAIMS
Claims, in the amount of $52,483.65 as shown by the claims
and allowance docket, were presented to the board. Mrs. Gustus made a motion to pay the claims, seconded by Mr.
Roderick. All ayes.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to be brought before the
board, Mrs. Gustus made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Roderick. All ayes.
